
About Master Instructor Shelly Bomb
Shelly is a developer and master trainer of AntiGravity Yoga: Restorative. She currently teaches all levels of AntiGravity Yoga at NYC’s AntiGravity Lab, as well as teacher trainings and workshops around the world As an apprentice to AntiGravity Yoga creator Christopher Harrison, she works to develop new curriculums within the Aerial Yoga genre. A rogue Yogi by definition, Shelly draws from a myriad of Yogic traditions, with Integral Yoga at her heart. She gracefully incorporates into her trainings the influences of quantum healing, brain science, Reiki and hypnosis for healing.
A performing and creative member of AntiGravity, the aerial performance company for 12 years, Shelly brings her unique sense of style into the air. Marrying 20 years of meditation, yoga practice and instruction to her love of defying gravity, Shelly strives within every class to open new pathways in the physical, as well as the mental, and energetic bodies.
Her path began with spontaneous meditation at age 7, eventually leading her to Asia, where, in 1990, she was introduced to Yoga. It was through Yoga that she healed her own chronic sciatica, allowing her to enjoy 20 years in the performing arts. In 2008, she sustained a severe injury of the cervical spine (non-performance related). Refusing invasive surgery, she turned to holistics to rehabilitate herself. Physically unable to resume the Hatha Yoga practice she adored, she agreed to attempt the newly developed AntiGravity Yoga. Within weeks of practice her neck pain diminished, and within short months she found herself stronger than ever and entirely healed from the multiple ruptures in her spine. A believer in fun as a means to heal the nervous system, Shelly brings a unique teaching style that is an invitation to evolve, not only as practitioner, but as a community, and as a species.

A note from Shelly Bomb: In being an instructor of Restorative AntiGravity Yoga, I have found my deepest reward. My most enthusiastic student is 82 years old, and my most ambitious student finds relief within the hammock from the rigors of cerebral palsy. Accessible to all, this gentle technique offers bold nurturing of the spirit, and deep stilling of the mind, alongside profound physical benefits.
